SPINESHANK Jonny Santos (Vocals) -- Rob Garcia (Bass/Vocals)- Tommy Decker (Drums) Tommy Decker, Jr. (Guitar) -- Jason Hager (Guitar) Formed in 1996 in Los Angeles, Spineshank exploded onto the late 90's Metal scene with their 1998 Roadrunner debut Strictly Diesel, and quickly built a rabid underground following, hitting the road alongside current and future luminaries like Sepultura, System of A Down, Fear Factory, Biohazard, and Static-X. Known for their fusion of industrial metal, alternative metal, and nu-metal elements, Spineshank gained prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s as part of the emerging wave of heavy music influenced by electronic textures and aggressive rhythms. Known for their emotionally charged compositions and intense live performances, Spineshank left a lasting impact on the metal scene, blending heavy riffs, electronic undertones, and introspective lyrics to craft a distinctive sound that has resonated with fans worldwide for over 30 years. Their sophomore effort, 2000's The Height of Callousness (2000), Produced by Garth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Mudvayne) marked a turning point into a more polished and aggressive sound, leading to critical acclaim and wider exposure, with tracks like „Synthetic" and „New Disease," quickly turning the band into a staple of the nu-metal era. Spineshank joined the ranks of Ozzfest 2001 and toured alongside a who's who of modern Metal greats including Slipknot, Linkin Park, Type O Negative, Mudvayne, and more. In 2003, Spineshank released Self-Destructive Pattern, which included the Grammy-nominated single „Smothered." Despite their success, internal tensions led to the departure of vocalist Jonny Santos in 2004, who formed SILENT CIVILIAN, and the band went on hiatus shortly after. Santos eventually returned, and Spineshank reunited in 2008, releasing their fourth and final album, Anger Denial Acceptance, in 2012. In 2023 Santos and Decker announced the forming of a new project, The Less Dead, which led to further speculation about the future of Spineshank. Now in 2025, Hell has indeed frozen over, as Spineshank returns with a revamped lineup featuring original members Jonny Santos, Rob Garcia, and Tommy Decker, along with new recruits Tommy Decker, Jr. (Guitar) and Jason Hager (ex-Chimaira -- Guitar) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their landmark release The Height of Callousness. OH HIROSHIMA Post Rock aus Schweden Oh Hiroshima, hervorgegangen aus der fruchtbaren skandinavischen Post-Rock-Szene, haben sich einen Namen gemacht, indem sie Introspektion in einen gewaltigen, filmischen Klang verwandeln. Their relationship with live music was formed early on in spaces where shows were brutal, chaotic and magnetic at the same time — teaching the band that intensity and honesty matter more than perfection. Their early releases Helix (EP, 2014) and Losing Grip (EP, 2017) were deeply rooted in hardcore culture, focusing on heavy grooves, blunt aggression and movement rather than concept or polish. Back then, rhythm and groove were already paired with a more colorful, offbeat approach — visually and sonically — foreshadowing the broader palette that would follow. With their first LP Street Heat (2021), SLOPE deliberately expanded their sound. Hardcore became one influence among many, as funk, hip hop, grunge and 90s crossover elements took a more prominent role. While their rst Demo '18 and then subsequent Raw Nights mini-album presented them as a more gutter-level Midnight, it was 2022's debut album, The Appearing, where the true form of KARLOFF took shape. Recasting the band in a totally new, altogether more unique light, The Appearing strutted forth to a rich, robust, and rippingly muscular sound not unlike ancient-days metalpunk; think Carnivore, Best Wishes-era Cro-Mags, or even early Nasty Savage, and you're in KARLOFF's wheelhouse. Turning that wheel yet further, KARLOFF return with their second full-length, Revered by Death. For sure, Revered by Death follows logically from The Appearing. That same lead- heavy stomp is present and accounted for here, but the paces KARLOFF go through are undeniably moodier and murkier; if there wasn't a sense of sti ed violence here, it would almost be accurate to call LP#2 "sludgy." No amount of energy is sacri ced, thankfully, as KARLOFF's olde-worlde evil goes in an even-darker direction while the tempos, in kind, feel slightly more reined in. Fleshing out that darkness further are chorus FX, once again tastefully applied and suggesting still a post-punk in uence that could blossom in the future; just witness the deathrock-in-glue instrumental "On Weathered Altar" for poignant proof. Beim letzten Album "Andromeda" widmete sich die Band rund um Singer/Songwriter Max Borchardt der Liebe zu Motown und dabei ist ein emotional spannendes und Genre übergreifendes Potpourri entstanden. Sänger und Gitarrist Viktor Koch schreibt die Songs, die Band aus Oberösterreich baut daraus Nummern über Sehnsucht, Veränderung und die Hoffnung, dass es besser wird - und lässt offen, ob man dazu tanzen oder aus dem Fenster schauen soll. Zwölf Jahre, sechs Veröffentlichungen, zwei Labels. Angefangen hat es 2015 mit der EP "Home" auf Noise Appeal Records, ein Jahr später kam das Debütalbum "Oneironaut". Songs wie "Child Of Love", "Forest" und "Follow Me" liefen auf FM4 und trugen die Band über Österreich hinaus. Danach der Wechsel zu Las Vegas Records, die EP "Between Dreams And Truth", die Alben "Kaleidoscope" und "Better Days". Die Arbeit mit Jordan Lawlor von M83 hat den Sound seither in Richtung Rock und Alternative verschoben, ohne die verträumte Grundierung wegzuräumen. Seit mehr als 10 Jahren bietet der ORF Radio Oberösterreich Hoamatsound Musikerinnen und Musikern mit Bezug zu Oberösterreich eine Bühne On Air. Und zusammen mit dem Posthof wird daraus auch eine Bühne mit Brettern, Lichtanlage und Applaus. In unseren Sendungen begleitet wir Bandkarrieren, feiern Neuformationen und stellen interessante Zugänge zur Musik vor. Vom absoluten Newcomer bis zu den coolen Klassikern, von der Singer-Songwriterin zum ausgewachsenen Big-Bandprojekt, von der Quetschen-EDM bis zum Mundartrock gibt’s jeden dritten Sonntag im Monat zwischen 19 und 20 Uhr immer wieder neue musikalische Facetten aus unserem Bundesland in Radio Oberösterreich zu entdecken. Wer ganz genau hinhört, kann noch andere Töne erlauschen, die sich dazu gesellen wollen. Ähnlich klingen sie, doch nicht gleich, wie auch die Zwillinge, die nun gemeinsam mit Cello und Saxophon musizieren. Bald betritt eine dritte Person den Raum und bringt Bewegung in das Geschehen! Mit Körper und Stimme lassen wir uns darauf ein und schon entfaltet sich eine Geschichte über „gleich" und „anders" sein, bei der sich alle zugehörig fühlen dürfen. Dabei bringt uns freie Improvisation vom Barock bis in den Jazz -- und weit darüber hinaus. Mit Tanz, Musik und Bewegung formen Künstlerinnen und Publikum eine gemeinsame Klangwelt, die Verständnis füreinander schafft, ohne vieler Worte zu bedürfen.
